The Willard Leon Beaulac papers. Part 2, 1945-1996 (bulk 1960-1979).

The Willard Leon Beaulac papers: Part 2 contain correspondence, manuscripts, subject files, printed materials, and photographs deriving from Willard L. Beaulac's service as U.S. ambassador to five Latin American nations. Correspondence from American State Department official Henry A. Kissinger (copies), Georgetown University professor James V. Schall, S.J., and Spanish politician Ramon Serrano Suner is included. The manuscripts include speeches and articles written by Beaulac. Information about the Alliance for Progress in preserved in the subject files. The printed materials contain some relatively rare items on U.S. relations with Latin America. And, a few photographs of Beaulac in various diplomatic settings round out the collection. These papers continue the Willard Leon Beaulac papers [Part 1] also in the Special Collections Division, Georgetown University Library.

Willard Leon Beaulac was born in Pawtucket, R.I., July 25, 1899. He attended Brown University, and, following service in the U.S. Navy (1918-19), enrolled in the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, from which he graduated in 1921. That same year, Beaulac joined the State Department, and was assigned consular posts in Central and South America in the following years.
